Ballimaaraan – The Piyush Mishra Project, is a musical homage to the doyen of Urdu poetry, Mirza Ghalib. The name ofcourse being inspired from the street in Delhi where the bard once lived. The band is helmed by Piyush Mishra, writer, actor, music director, lyricist and singer – to perform songs from his theatre era. Although popular tunes like Husna, Aarambh, Ghar have always received an overwhelming response, other songs performed by Ballimaaraan are quite quirky and refreshing to the ears.
